Day 2: No time? Do the main three…

Practice felt good today.

I took Kavi’s advice and did my pranayama after the sun exercise. What a fantastic idea.It worked beautifully – I wasn’t rushing through it at all – and I could breathe through both nostrils beautifully because it was just after the sun exercise.

Somehow step 3 and step 9 always clears my nasal passages. :)

Unlike yesterday, I didn’t feel the pain when I eased into the Sarvangasana (shoulderstand) today. Also managed to do the plough pose even for just a few seconds. And when doing the posterior stretch, I imagined prana circulating thru my abdominal area… doing what it needs to do. I spent most time on the posterior stretch today. I think I spent 25 to 30 mins again today on the whole session.
Mrs Perumal (my yoga instructor’s wife) used to say… if you dont have enough time, just make sure you do the three main poses… Sirshasana (headstand), Sarvangasana (shoulderstand) and Posterior Stretch. That has stuck in my mind since the day she said it. Must be an important message for me!
Note to self : Must find a way to make sure I guarantee myself a minimum of 30 mins every morning for yoga. This requires some serious strategising. With a 21 month old – this isn’t as straightforward as it seems!
